Sep 29, 1942 — Feb 11, 2023
William "Tom" Coots was born in Owensboro, KY to the Rev. Clinton and Dorothy Coots. Tom was a resident of Dunedin, FL, formerly of Revere, MA. He is survived by his loving partner, Susan Regan and beloved goddaughter, Amanda Muir. Also survived by his sister, Grace May and her husband Frank as well as Tom's children, Tom Jr. and Serena Dawn, six grandchildren, two nieces and a nephew as well many friends.
Tom was very patriotic and served his country in the United States Navy. Tom was a beloved Pastor and dedicated his life to ministry as well as acting as Chaplain for the Everett, MA Fire and Police Departments. He was also a member of the E-Club, proudly once receiving the Citizen of the Year award. He received many other awards and recognitions for his service to the community. Tom valued all his co-workers and friends while employed at Ward Funeral Home in Everett, MA as well as Curlew Hills Memory Gardens in Palm Harbor, FL. He will be forever missed as the annual leader of the Christmas Lighting Remembrance Ceremony at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett, MA.
Tom always loved gardening, time at the beach, but mostly his deepest love was for his beloved dogs, Cody and Brady. Cody passed prior to Tom, and he missed him terribly. His heart began to heal with his new Maltipoo, Brady.
He was a sports enthusiast. He loved the Patriots and the Buccaneers. He loved the Red Sox and Celtics. He did not want to be interrupted during a good wrestling match.
