Robert P. Dean, 88, resident of The Villages, FL, passed away on January 18, 2017. Known to everyone as Bob, he was the oldest of the six children of Francis(Frank) and Frances Dean. Along with his parents he was predeceased by his brother Frederick and his sisters Marjorie Trujillo and Patricia Ross. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary;his son Francis (Frank) P. Dean and daughter-in-law Margaret A. (Megan) Seibel of Colorado;his daughter Kerry Dean Carso and son-in-law Brian F. Carso, Jr. of Pennsylvania; grandchildren Jackson and Madeline Dean and Owen and Nathaniel Carso;and his sisters Martha Patz of New Hampshire and Mary Mitcheson of Florida. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Bob was born in Everett, Massachusetts, graduated from Everett High School in 1947, and was an active member of the Everett community for many years. He served as president of the city's Lions Club, was a long-time member of the Elks Lodge and the Knights of Columbus, and was chairman of the Everett Conservation Commission.He was a fan of the New England Patriots and attended every home game from the team's inception in 1960 through 1985. For many years, he was Executive Vice President of Radio Component Corporation in Lynn, Massachusetts, retiring in 1988.
In 1997 he and Mary started spending winters at The Villages in Florida and moved in year-round in 2001. During his retirement, Bob enjoyed playing golf and bocce. He also traveled extensively, visiting Europe, taking cruises of the Caribbean, and touring many areas in the United States.
A memorial service will be held at J. F. Ward Funeral Home at 772 Broadway, Everett, Massachusetts at 10:30am on Saturday, February 25. Visitation will begin at 9:30am.A burial service will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
