TROY, Richard J.-A lifelong Everett resident, passed away on July 26, 2012 at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 72 years old. Beloved husband of Dorothy M. (Ballou) Troy. Loving son of the late John Troy and the late Anna (Connolly) Troy. Loving brother of Maureen Troy of Everett, Judith A. Murphy of Everett, Anne Marie Melisi and her husband Michael of Danvers, John Troy, Jr. and his wife Theresa of Everett, Paul M. Troy and his wife Joanne of Saugus. He is also survived by 9-cherished nieces and nephews, and 8- cherished great nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a funeral from the JF Ward Funeral Home, 772 Broadway, Everett, on Tuesday, July 31st, at 8 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary of The Assumption Church, 660 Washington Ave., Revere, at 9 AM. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 PM. Interment in Glenwood Cemetery, Everett. After graduating from Everett High School, he served in the US Air Force and went on to receive a B.A. and a M.A. from Boston University, and a J.D. from Suffolk Law School. In addition to being a longtime practicing Everett attorney, Mr. Troy taught constitutional law and criminology at Dracut High School. He was also a retired Everett city councilor and was affiliated with numerous organizations.
