Rene Sanchez, of Everett, MA, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 24th, 2024, at the age of 64.

Rene was born on August 25th, 1960 in Bogota, Colombia to the late Alejo Sanchez and Ana Bertilda Sanchez-Caicedo. He married Marivel Toro-Sanchez with whom he shared two beautiful children Andres and Viviana. After arriving in the United States in 1991, he began his career as a maintenance worker at Arbour Hospital and advanced to become a dedicated Mental Health worker at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. In retirement, Rene embraced life with joy, filling every moment with laughter, music, dance, and a game of pool. To his family and friends, he was the life of the party—a master of jokes and a gifted singer and dancer. His loving personality will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

Rene is survived by his loving mother, Ana-Bertilda, his wife, Marivel, and their children: Viviana, and Andres with his wife, Jasmin. He was a proud grandfather to Valentina, Nathalie, and Daniela. Rene also leaves behind his cherished siblings and their spouses: Henry and his wife Margarita, Nelly Janet, German and his wife Luz Marina, Patricia and her husband Joe, Nelson Javier and his wife Adriana, Yamile, Magda and her husband Peter, and Carolina and her partner Joe, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a visitation at the J. F. Ward Funeral Home, 772 Broadway, Everett, MA on Sunday, December 1st, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with a prayer service at 3:00 PM to celebrate Rene's life and share memories. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 2nd, at Immaculate Conception Church, 487 Broadway, Everett, MA at 10 am.
