Paul D. Neal, of Everett (formerly of Waltham), passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2025th, at the VA Hospital in Boston. He was 87.
Paul was born on December 5, 1937, in Waltham a son of the late Frederick and Alma (Albert) Neal. Raised and educated in Waltham he was a graduate of Waltham High School. Paul worked in the food and beverage restaurant/hotel industry for over 40 plus years.
Paul was honored to serve in the United States Navy and was a proud veteran.
He was a loyal New England sports fan, an avid poker player, loved to cook for family and friends and enjoyed the ocean. He also had a passion for horses and horse racing. His family offers words of thanks to his close friends and his team from the VA Boston Healthcare system.
Paul leaves behind his children Frederick S. Neal of Brighton, Sean T. Neal (Jean) of Wareham, Julie M. Marshall (Richard) of Pepperell, Eileen Dicks (David) of Hyde Park and, his beloved longtime companion, Berenice Sullivan and her children, Kathy Sullivan Smith (David), deceased daughter Maureen Sullivan Flynn (Thomas Flynn Sr.), and also deceased daughter Jacqueline Sullivan. He is also survived by his grandchildren, great grandchild as well as nieces and nephews. Paul was the former husband of the late Julia Neal and brother of the late Frederick Neal and Patricia Neal.
Paul will be sorely missed by all that knew him. A private service will take place at the J.F. Ward Funeral Home in Everett.
