Paul Kevin Callahan died peacefully on September 16th, 2023 in Durham, NC, surrounded by his friends and family.
He is survived by his partner H. Robb Levinsky, sisters Barbara Callahan and Kim Callahan, nieces Isabella Brown and Tara Driscoll, nephew Michael Callahan, and many cousins and friends.
Paul was the son of George and Frances (Procopio) Callahan, and the brother of Michael Callahan and Patricia Callahan, all of whom preceded him in death.
Born in Everett, MA, Paul grew up in the Boston area. Paul graduated from Everett Vocational High School and attended college for his career in computer science. He worked as a systems engineer and spent most of his career with Honeywell International Inc. Paul lived in Massachusetts, California, New Jersey and Florida, but considered North Carolina his home. In addition to traveling throughout the United States, Paul also visited many countries around the world and made friends everywhere he went.
Paul was passionate about running, music, the Celtics, and especially photography. A self-taught technology whiz, he also took up painting later in life.
A celebration of Paul's life will be held September 23rd at the J.F. Ward Funeral Home, 772 Broadway in Everett, MA.
Visitation with friends and family will be held at the funeral home from 10 AM to 12 PM, followed by the memorial service in the funeral home at 12 PM. Services will conclude with entombment in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's memory to either National Public Radio or Doctors Without Borders.
