Obituary

Patricia Ann "Patty" (McGrath) Glancey passed peacefully on April 7th, 2024. Born in 1949 to the late Lawrence and Winifred (Meuse) McGrath, she grew up in Georgetown and Everett and loved travel, gardening, and animals. Married to Charles (Fred) Glancey, with whom she shared nearly 40 years of loving marriage prior to his passing, they spent their time exploring the world together, cruising and visiting many parts of Europe and Asia. They made their home in Ellington, Connecticut, raised two children and were active members of their community and their church, where Patty served as a Eucharistic Minister. They moved to Peabody, Massachusetts in their later years to be closer to family. She enjoyed many years of summer vacations to coastal Maine, where she loved combing the beach for seashells and just-the-right rocks for her garden.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband, she was also predeceased by siblings Larry, Billy, and Patty Ann. She is survived by her children Shaun Glancey and his partner Heather, of Winsted, CT and Michelle Glancey, of Denver, CO, along with sister and best friend Eugénie (Genie) and brother Matthew and his wife Laura of Everett. She also leaves behind nieces Kathleen (her Godchild) and Kelly, nephews Christopher, Mark, Patrick, and Daniel, along with many cousins and several great nieces.

Friends and relatives are kindly invited to gather for a visitation at J.F. Ward Funeral Home, 772 Broadway in Everett, on Saturday, April 13th between 10:00am and 1:00pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:00pm at the funeral home.
