Obituary

To those so fortunate to know enough to ponder over the well-being of Mrs. Lyndel Barrett Redley🕊

Lyndel, Born November 14th, 1933, departed our company this August 15th, 2022.  She was 88-years-of-age, broadly well-attended by her loving family at home, in the midst of a blessing rendered Heaven-ward in honor of her bright and goodly name.🕊

Born in St. Anne's Parish, Jamaica, West Indies, Lyndel was the daughter of Cyril, a landowner and lay-deacon, and Adina (Livermoor) Barrett, one of their seventeen children together.  She was reared in Jamaica and would eventually attend and graduate nursing school in the U.K., departing for the United States at the behest of recruiters sent abroad in support of the nursing shortage, here, arriving and embarking on a nursing career at Revere Memorial Hospital in 1971.

"Miss Del" loved passing her time knitting, solving crossword puzzles, walking~especially Revere  Beach, whipping up rum cakes and spiced carrot juice from scratch, rum raisin ice  cream, black cherry brandy, Lawrence Welk, Mormon Tabernacle, Johnny Cash, Lendy's Bagels, first cups of tea, bingo and the daily diversion of just a handful of daytime soaps.  She so loved reading from and encouraging her times-and-sundry-beleaguered brood from the Book of Psalms and was widely known for an unmistakable glow owing to her unflagging love for God🕊

She was the prayerful and faithful mother of Linsel Harry Clarke and wife, Millicent, of Lynn; Astley Alexander Miller of Chelsea; Patrick (né Barrett) and Basil Miller of the United Kingdom; Vivian Lobo of Randolph; Lilian Redley of Everett; Lincoln Lloyd Redley of Revere; Elizabeth Redley of Belmont and the late Janet Sharon Theresa Redley, Esquire, of New Jersey ~ as well, the loving grandmother of Kadian Clark of Lynn; Dr. Claudia Friend and wife, Heidi, of Providence; Shanice Clarke of Portland, OR; Michelle Marie (M3) Miller of Revere; Anthony Clements of Florida; Jean Luc Barrett of the United Kingdom; Evan Tyler Redley of Revere; Shardae Lobo of Randolph; Zachary Steward of Belmont and Jordan Redley of Everett, finally even becoming great grandmother to Tegan Janet Friend, already wizened well beyond her years.

Our most dear and venerable lady was to eventually be survived by her younger sister, Miss Leslin Barrett of Florida (able to attend and bless her final bedside prior their final temporal parting); her brothers, Loyell Barrett of England and Edward Barrett of Jamaica : but the length and the breadth and the depth of her full wake did draw unto these so fortunate souls these following, now precious and constant broader family, all faithfully and affectionately bearing witness to same :🕊

God-knit sisters, Marilyn Francis of North Carolina, Violet Lindsey of Port St. Lucia, Salome Redley of Everett; God-knit sons, Snappa Redley of Everett and President Leroy Redley of Maryland; nieces Hilda Richards of Everett, Elexcy Morrison of Florida and Dawn Macpherson of Jamaica, daughter-in-law, Cheryl Ann Miller of Saugus and God-knit daughters, Augusta Adiah of Lowell, Annette Viscarello of Revere, as well a treasure trove of nieces, nephews and familial friends objectively too innumerable to name🕊

We do hereby cordially invite any whatsoever watcher and reader to freely please join our very so-God-kissed-souls in their so looking forward and longing to joining up with our "Miss Del" ~ and all so similarly hopeful departed ~ "one sweet day" ( : for, in Christ Jesus' most excellent of names,🕊 we will see her again)🕊
