On January 6, 2019 his perpetually restless spirit passed on to eternal rest. In his own words "Goodbye cruel world". Joe loved working with wood and mechanical, electrical, plumbing trades along with automotive/motorcycle repair and customizing. He worked in the home building and carpentry trade during the early 1960's and was an appliance repair technician since 1970. In 1980 he founded "Action Appliance Repar". Honest and reliable to a fault he faithfully served his customers as he himself wished to be treated.

A volunteer combat veteran of the Vietnam War 1968-69 serving in artillery (4 ^th Battalion 11 ^th Marines) as a communications center chief. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps serving from 1966 to 1970 and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant E-5. He became a firefighter in 1980 on the Everett Fire Department but was laid off after one and a half years due to budget cuts. In 1982 he was hired by the Brookline Fire Department also proudly serving with the Local 950 Honor Guard and as an Emergency Medical Technician until his retirement in 2009. He was a member of the Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club 1990-96 and a Charter member of the International Association of Firefighters Motorcycle Group since 2005.

Joseph is the beloved husband of 43 yrs to the late Carol DeSimone (Thistle). Devoted father of Renee DeSimone, Joseph DeSimone Jr. and the late Robert DeSimone. Cherished grandfather of Robert, Raya, Nicholas, Matthew, Madison and Kendall. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave, Wakefield on Saturday, January 12 ^th at 10am. Visiting Hours will be held in the JF Ward Funeral Home, 772 Broadway, Everett on Friday from 4-8pm.
