Obituary

JOYCE, John D. Of Malden, formerly of Everett, passed away at his home on June 4th, 2021, at 63 years. He was the beloved husband for 36 years to Kathleen (Weymouth) Joyce. Loving father of Caitlin Joyce. Loving son of the late Theodore Joyce (former Everett Police Chief) and Helen (Kersey) Joyce. Loving brother of Thomas and his wife Lena, Robert and his wife Sue, the late Patricia, Theodore and his surviving wife Mary. Loving brother-in-law of Kevin J. Weymouth, James A. Weymouth, Jr. & his wife Joan, Maureen L. Guild & her husband Thomas, Thomas R. Weymouth and his wife Donna Jaggard, Nancy M. White and her husband Mark, and the late Elizabeth A. Gouveia & her surviving husband Joseph. John is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. John was a retired worker for Rooter-Man who he worked for 30 years. He loved word search puzzles and watching Boston sports teams, with exception the Boston Celtics. John was a part of the Malden and Woburn Bowling leagues for many years. He was a funny and kind guy and he will be missed. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a funeral from the JF Ward Funeral Home, 772 Broadway, EVERETT, on Wednesday, June 9th, at 11 am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 670 Washington Ave., Revere, at 12 noon. Visiting Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute @ www.danafarber.org
