AGNETA, Jean E.- A longtime Everett resident, passed away after a long illness on June 13th, 2024, at 93 years of age. She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick Agneta with whom she shared 63 years of marriage.  Loving mother of David Agneta and his wife Mary of Westford, Dianne Pechilis and her husband William of Sagamore Beach, and Jacqueline Pounds and her husband Douglas of Goffstown, NH. She is also survived by 7 cherished grandchildren and 4 cherished great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Young, of Texas.

Jean spent over 14 years at Bunker Hill Community College in Charlestown as the Administrative Assistant for the Nursing Department Faculty. Jean loved to travel and made over 30 trips to Aruba and 5 trips to Switzerland, where she made many new friends.   She also traveled to many U.S. locations, including Cape Cod and New Hampshire, and visited the United Kingdom, Canada, and Italy. An avid reader, she enjoyed Victorian-era detective stories usually set in England.  She read hundreds of books recommended by the wonderful staff at the Shute Memorial Library in Everett.  She was often seen in her 90's carrying a large bag of books home from the library.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation at the JF Ward Funeral Home, 772 Broadway, Everett on Saturday, June 22nd from 10 am to 12 pm, followed by a service in the funeral home at 12 pm. Services will conclude with internment in Glenwood Cemetery, Everett.
