McDONALD, Irene C. (Burden)-Age 85 of Everett, MA and Brewer, ME went home be with the Lord on March 10, 2012. Daughter of the late Clara (Snook) Burden and Hayward Burden. Sister of the late Florence Johnson, Emma Dorothy Burden, and Marion Burden. Beloved wife of the late Leland A. McDonald. Loving mother of David McDonald and his wife Karin of Brewer, ME, Robert A. Patria, Esq. of Everett, MA. Devoted grandmother of Rebecca McDonald of Brewer, ME, Emma Dorothy Patria, Ian Patria of North Andover, MA, and Christopher Patria of Belmont, MA. She was born on October 11, 1926 and attended Everett High School class of 1944. She was very active in the First Baptist Church on Church St., Everett, serving as Assistant Treasurer for many years and serving on many other committees. She was also a successful Avon Lady for 22 years, winning many awards and making many friends. She worked for many years for the Geophysics Research Division of the U.S. Government and then for the Air Force Police at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA, where she met her future husband who was serving in the USAF. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a funeral at the JF Ward Funeral Home, 772 Broadway, Everett, MA on Friday, March 16th, at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 6-8 PM. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers, donations in Irene's name may be made to the First Baptist Church, 50 Church St., Everett, MA 02149.
