Obituary

Handsome, Debonair, Lady Killer- Frederick Hayward Scott of Meredith, NH, passed away peacefully on October 24th, 2024. He was 81 years old. Born in Everett, MA on October 1st, 1943, he was the son of the late Elliott M. and Florence (Marshall) Scott. Fred graduated from Everett High School in 1961, where he lettered in Track & Field, receiving many awards, and set the High School record in the Javelin competition. Fred graduated from Boston State College in 1965 with a degree in Mathematics. He married Pamela (Skane) Scott and started a family just prior to graduation. His High School yearbook described him as "handsome, debonair, lady killer", and to know Fred, one would agree. He had a charming smile, a sparkle in his eye and an air of sheer confidence about him. In the beginning of his career, he went to work for a small computer company. When asked, he responded that he wasn't sure what a computer was, but that the job paid well. And yet, being the visionary that he was, he started his own business in 1974 and never looked back. He led a team of young engineers and created various technologies that were ahead of their time. Fred resided in Southborough, MA, with his first wife, Pamela for 16 years. Later in his life, Fred moved to Marlborough, and shortly thereafter, reunited with his once childhood sweetheart, Roberta (Kerrins) Garofano. They later married and continued to reside in Marlborough for 10 years. Fred and Bobbi later moved to Moultonborough, NH, where Fred's greatest pleasure of being on the water was satisfied by Lake Winnipesaukee. Often times, you could find Fred out on the boat cruising around. Fred is predeceased by his youngest brother, Ronald, and his brother-in-law, Frank Fagerlund. Fred is survived by his sister, Marilyn, his brother, Robert, and by the love of his life, Roberta "Bobbi" Scott, as well as his sons, Elliott R., Eric and Jeffrey Scott, his stepdaughters, Leigh (Garofano) O'Conner & Layne (Garofano) Garcia-Moran, their spouses, and Fred & Bobbi's fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, October 30th, 2024, at the J. F.
