Obituary

Frances Lillian (Cormier) Oram was born on December 29, 1935, to Wilfrid and Rose (Humber) Cormier.

Frances, affectionately known as Lil grew up in Chelsea where she attended Saint Rose all-girls school. Shortly after her high school graduation her family moved to Revere. She then worked for Emerson Textile Company as head secretary.

While living in Revere she met the love of her life, Jack (John) Oram. They were married on November 15, 1963. From this union 2 children were born, Shawn and Beth Oram. And as a good Mom she dearly loved her children until the very end. And of course, her children also loved her.

Jack and Lil set an example to their children and other family members. The main example was loving the Lord. They set an example of the importance of going to church. First attending St. Joseph Catholic Church in Woburn. After coming to know the Lord as their personal Savior they attended a couple of other churches, namely Bethel Revival Center in Everett, North Shore Assembly in Malden, and then St. Paul Evangelical Church in Lexington, now known as Christ Revolution Church.

Lil was very hospitable and she would often have friends to her home for a meal. She also loved to craft and decorate, as the seasons changed. The house was decorated with flower arrangements, centerpieces, wreaths and many other decorations. (You may have even been a happy recipient of one of her creations). No house in the neighborhood (wherever they lived) could outdo the Oram’s house.

And oh, did she love hats! Wherever she went the hat would go on! She had seasonal hats, specific holiday hats and would even swap out a flower or two to match a specific outfit. She was affectionately known as “the hat lady”!

One other thing that she loved was to go on an adventure. She seemed always eager to get in the car and go! She would often be up early on Saturday mornings dressed and ready because she knew we would be going “somewhere”! Out for breakfast, shopping, a day trip to Maine! I would often ask her where she wanted to go and she would say “it doesn’t matter, wherever you want to take me”!

Lil also loved to give. Wherever she saw a need she was always willing to share. She loved hugs (giving and receiving) and even if you were almost her age, she treated you as her child making sure you had everything you needed, waiting on you hand and foot.

Please note that the word that best describes Lil is “love”. She not only sought to be loved but she exuded love. Lil will fondly be remembered by all who knew her. To know Lil, was to love her.

Lil was predeceased by her parents, Wilfrid and Rose, her beloved husband Jack, her sister Marie and her brother Joseph.

Remaining in her immediate family is her sister Ann Pinierio whom she dearly loved. Unfortunately, Ann has been ill for many years and is unable to attend today.

Mostly, she will be greatly missed by her children Shawn and Beth, her nieces and nephews and other family members. She will also be missed by the many friends that she made over the years.

Lillian is now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She is at home, to be forever with her Master and Lord.

Shawn and Beth would like to thank all for their, love, support and encouragement through this difficult time. Very thankful for her hospice nurses and of course her beloved aide Ana who will always be a part of our family! Words are inadequate to express our thoughts and appreciation.

Thank you all for being here today, thus showing your love for Lil, and supporting both Shawn and Beth.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation at the Christ Revolution Church, 451 Lowell St., Lexington, MA on Thursday, May 21st, from 10 am to 12 pm, followed by a funeral celebration of Lil's life in the church at 12 pm.
