Dorothy (Jewell) McAuliffe, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024. Dorothy was born in 1938, the daughter of Fred and Dorothy (Clisbee) Jewell. In 1962, she married her sweetheart, Francis ("Frank") X. McAuliffe, and the two settled down in Malden to raise their family. They shared 50 years of marriage until his passing in 2012. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Frank and her sons, Francis ("Frankie") and Mark. She was the loving mother of Catherine, William, Lisa, Joyce, Kenneth, Cheryl and Phillip. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren & 3 (soon to be 4) great-grandchildren, two sons in law, David and Wally, and many nieces and nephews.

Our mom was the most loving mom and will be missed beyond words. She enjoyed going to the beach, word search puzzles, painting, singing, and decorating her home. She loved applying her makeup. She enjoyed watching her favorite shows on television, especially Colombo (number 1 favorite), as well as old movies, winter sports programs, the Bruins and, believe it or not, WWF wrestling. She loved her pet cats and enjoyed feeding the squirrels. Most of all, she loved being with her family. Dorothy dedicated her life to her family, and she was a source of unwavering support to them.

Our mother taught us many things in life, except how to get through life without her.

To honor Dorothy's wishes, private services will be held.
