Obituary

David A. "Dave" Horsman, aged 79, of Stuart, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2024 after a brief illness. Born in Boston, he grew up in Sharon, MA and graduated from Barrington High School in Rhode Island after the family relocated there. He continued his education earning his undergraduate degree and his Master of Business Administration at Providence College.

Dave was an Army veteran, serving in Korea and Okinawa between 1967 to 1973. He had a lengthy career in business working for several organizations including the Rhode Island Office of the Attorney General, Rhode Island Department of Transportation, and the US Railway Association in Washington, DC. His career path also led him to work for CACI in Rosslyn, VA, the Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC, Phoenix Memorial Hospital in Phoenix, AZ, Rio Solado College in Tempe, AZ, and Luke Air Force Base, AZ.

Outside of work, Dave enjoyed watching his beloved Red Sox and Liverpool Football Club. He was an avid golfer, a voracious reader, and had a passion for travel, exploring the many wonders of the world. Most recently he was in Ireland celebrating Christmas with his family.

Dave leaves behind his wife of 56 years, the former Margaret Vitullo, a daughter Kristin Flora and her husband Mike of South Riding, VA, two grandchildren, Marissa Fields and her husband Ben of Lake Ridge, VA and Sean Flora of South Riding, VA. He also leaves behind a sister Susan Horsman and wife Jane Harrington of Parrish, FL and a brother Peter Horsman and wife JoAnn of Cranston, RI, as well as a nephew and several nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Louise Horsman.

A celebration of Dave's life will be held this summer in Warren, RI. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Nalani Horse Rescue (nalanihr.org) or another worthy organization in his memory.

The funeral arrangements are being handled with care by JF Ward Funeral Home in Everett, MA.
