Obituary

WAGSTAFF, Claire G.-Of Everett, passed away on August 19th, 2015, at 87 years. Beloved cousin of Carol and Frank Gross, Ann Eriksen, Karen King, Lyn Eriksen, and Robert Eriksen. Cherished friend of Betty Matarazzo, Marlene Pelkey, and Irene Curtin. She is also survived by her many dear military and Plum Island friends. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a funeral from the JF Ward Funeral Home, 772 Broadway, Everett, on Monday, Aug 24th, at 9:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Grace Church, 194 Nichols St., Everett-Chelsea line, at 10:30 AM. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-6 PM. Services will conclude with military honors in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Claire served her country for 33 years in the Naval Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, and was the first woman to retire from the Massachusetts Army National Guard. She was a longtime manager for NE Telephone and was past President of the Telephone Pioneers, Boston Chapter. In Her memory, donations may be made to Our Lady of Grace Church, 59 Nichols St., Chelsea, MA 02150 or to the Humane Society, 87 Wharf St., Weymouth, MA 02189
