Christopher
Gropper
Dec 22, 1964 — Sep 12, 2026
Cambridge, MA
Christopher Gropper, of Cambridge, Massachusetts, passed away suddenly on September 12th, 2026. Chris was born on December 22nd, 1964 and was raised in Somerville, Massachusetts.
Chris was predeceased by his father, Joseph Gropper, and leaves behind Vera Gropper (mother), Dawna Snyder (sister), Amanda Cote (daughter), Andrew Cox (stepson), Martha Scott (stepmother), and Chelsea Wooding (niece), along with their spouses and children.
Chris graduated from Arlington High School in 1984. Inheriting his father’s artistic talents, he grew up drawing and painting, learning how to play the trumpet (inspired by his beloved Uncle Al), and deep-sea fishing. Chris’s childhood connection to the ocean led to his first true job at the Cambridge, Massachusetts Legal Sea Foods fish counter, where he took great joy in cooking the fresh fish he brought home. Chris enjoyed listening to his favorite songs, “Forever Young” and “Where is the Love”, as well as listening to his favorite comedian, George Carlin. Above all, Chris’s greatest joys were the birth of his daughter, the precious years he spent raising her, and the time he dedicated to caring for his father during a time of need.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to everyone who provided care and support to Chris over the years. Your dedicated efforts to keep him safe and improve his quality of life meant the world to us. Chris held a special place in all of our hearts, and your kindness will always be remembered.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Chris’s memory to CASPAR, Attn: Development Department, 66 Canal Street, Boston, MA 02114 or online at https://baycovehumanservices.org/donate
