MATEWSKY, Anthony "Tony" Sr. -Of Everett, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on March 15, 2015, at 85 years. Beloved father of Anthony J. Matewsky of Everett, Wanda Huizenga and her husband Dr. Robert Huizenga, of LA, California, Robert Matewsky and his wife Kathleen of Winchendon, and former State Representative Wayne Matewsky of Everett. Former husband of Marion Matewsky of Everett. Dear friend of Linda Calderbank of Tewksbury. He is also survived by 7 cherished grandchildren and 5 cherished great grandchildren. Tony was a 1949 graduate of Everett High School and was a Korean War combat veteran. He was a member of the Painters and Allied Crafts Union and had the distinction of the Longest Billboard Poster in America with Donnelly Advertising and Ackerley Communications. He was a member of the E Club, Everett Democratic City Committee, and the Everett-Saugus Elks. Tony was also a longtime animal rights supporter. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours at the JF Ward Funeral Home, 772 Broadway, Everett, on Thursday, March 19th, from 3-7 PM, followed by a prayer service in the funeral home at 7 PM.
